A writer–real writer–can write anywhere,
On a table, a sofa, a bed or a chair,
On a plane in the sky, in a storm on a plow,
On a cattle drive, right on the side of a cow.
A writer can write on the sole of a shoe,
On the truth of a sneeze (that’s the soul of achoo),
On the bark of a tree with a switchbladed knife,
On the bark of a dog, on the meaning of life.
A writer can write about writers who can’t,
About writers who won’t, or who should do but shan’t,
On apostrophes missing or those misapplied,
On grammatical fashion, how bowties are tied.
A writer who writes about anything knows
That a writer’s who writes. Would I were one of those.
Love this! Awesome work 🙂
Thank you! I find that not having anything to write about is one of the topics about which I write most. Maybe there’s a topic there….
You are one of those
A friend at a writing workshop had a shirt that said, “Even when I’m not writing, I’m writing.”
You write!!
