I Blame Strauss

Europeans like to walk
And I don’t mean around the block:
They ramble all across the land
For reasons I don’t understand
But can’t help but respect, and they
Cross lots of rivers on their way.
Should northbound hikers leave the sea
‘Tween eastern Greece and Italy
It’s almost guaranteed their trek
Will take them o’er a Danube. Heck,
They’re everywhere! From Germany
To Ukraine, there’s a River D
Three-quarter timing through the town
In which you’re wandering. Look down
From almost any bridge to find
A duck with Danube-drenched behind
Quack-paddling beneath the span
You’re standing on. I tell you, man,
There’s Danubes there in every hue!
How come I’ve only heard of blue?

Less Fruit Than You Might Think

Too much of two kinds of rum,
Orange liqueur and maybe some
Lime juice, on ice– Oh, I forgot
That syrup that’s pronounced or-ZHAAT,
And maybe simple syrup, too.
The ratios are up to you,
But roughly 4:2:1
Of rum:orgeat:liqueur is fun.
One lime per glass (squeezed nearly dry),
And that’s a pretty chill Mai Tai.

Good Wood

Stick-based foods are underrated
Tasty meals need not be plated
Shishkebab and skewered meats
Are highly satisfying eats
And for dessert a 50/50
Creamsicle is pretty nifty
Who needs fancy dining tricks?
Give me mac-n-cheese on sticks!
