Ruffled Feathers

There’s a sign in the park where I run when I can
With an owl attacking a frightened stick man,
And the message is meant to put folks on alert
That when raptors are nesting, bystanders get hurt,
Which, spoilers! Although what I haven’t seen yet
Is advice on how not to present as a threat
To an overprotective, nocturnal, winged beast
On whose home I have zero designs in the least.
A Strigiforme’s stereotypically wise,
But owl profiling is bogus. Surprise!

Should Have Used The Bread Box

I built a diorama
Of my favorite nursery rhyme
About the broth-dispensing mom
Who’s spanking all the time.
Her house was kinda crowded
So I donated a shoe
And told her, “It’s a duplex
And the second home’s for you!”
Now my foot smells soupy.
I’m a landlord, though. Woo-hoo!
