Impending Joy

The cloud cover’s thinning;
If midnight is clearer
That’s positive proof
That the holiday’s nearer
Than I and my fellow
Crastinat’ry pros
Would prefer. I’d defer
‘Til the new year, but those
On my list of reciprocal
Givers of gifts
Might object, so to heck
With good planning and thrift
And with locavore shopping.
I’ll head to the mall
With the masses. Good buy
And good cheer to us all!
