Holiday Delay

So, once again, I haven’t yet
Composed my holiday brevet
Although it’s nearly halfway through
December. What’s a boy to do?
There’s Option A: Whip off a rhyme
And get it in the mail in time
For ante-holiday arrival
Even though the verse would rival
R’s are red and V’s are blue
In quality; and Option 2:
Spend time to craft the perfect verse
And get it out by May, or worse.
To solve this quandary’s my mission
And a holiday tradition
No less holy for the fact
That careful planning (which I’ve lacked
For most of my adultery)
Would quickly solve it all for me.
Will I work it out? A hint:
I’m writing this, and that’s not sent.
