After Watching “Selma”

I wasn’t there. I didn’t know
How things were done. I wonder, though,
Would I have acted as I feel
I would have now, if it were real
And not a movie on the screen?
Would I have cried, if I had seen?
If I had heard the call, would I
Have gone to stand, to march, to die?
The war remains today un-won–
(See Baltimore. See Ferguson.)–
Should I be doing more than this?
I’m ignorant, but this ain’t bliss.
